HEK 012: Nautiluss x Lord Skywave

Hemlock Recordings releases its latest 12″ on Monday from the unlikely pairing of Canadian producer Nautiluss (Graham Douglas Bertie of Thunderheist fame) and the UK’s Lord Skywave (Simon Lord).

After a malt liquor sponsored tour of North America, the pair became friends and later embarked on this collaboration.

The result… Firstly, is ‘Ultraviolet’. A pitch perfect piece of dark, melancholic late- night club music comprised of eerie vocals and synth work coupled with a calm melody keeping the tension at bay.

Secondly, the hauntingly beautiful instrumental ‘Bleu Monday’. Various percussive elements build over delicate synths throughout the track, which flourish into an enthusiastic and somewhat unearthly experience.
