Hotflush: Back and 4th – Plus Boddika Download

Hotflush bring us a hotly anticipated compilation album, plus a free download…

In ten years time when people look back upon the development of the contemporary music seen since the turn of the century, you will hear Paul Rose’s Hotflush imprint mentions along side Hyperdub, Plant Mu, Eglo, Punch Drunk, Permanent Vacation, Border Community, Hessle Audio, Rush Hour and Ostgut Ton. If history is a collection of significant events the Hotflush has been present at many of these key moments.

Since 2003 Rose aka Scuba aka SCB has pushed the sounds of bass music hard. Not only in terms of credibility but in a creative and experimental sense. This influence has done much for the current musical landscape of genre collision and cross fertilisation. The underground UK bass scene, now so intimately intertwined with continental techno owes much to Hotflush; via Rose’s move to Berlin. Perhaps the talents of Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison and Sepalcure would have risen regardless of Rose’s efforts but his commitment to consistency in diversity certainly did much to produce the environment in which they flourished.

Back and 4th, out 4th April, represents something of a celebration of Hotflush’s current and future position at the forefront of electronic music. Featureing ten brand new exclusive tracks from bass music’s most innovative producers including: dBridge, Roska, Boddika and FaltyDL as well as a collection of essentials from Hotflush’s catalogue with tracks and remixes from James Blake, Untold, Pangaea, 2562 and more.
