Seiji – Seiji 2: Straylight/Weedkiller

If you’ve been interested in forward-thinking electronic music over the past 10 years, you will have come across a Seiji production. Paul ‘Seiji’ Dolby continues his ‘Seiji series’ with another dance floor focused release.

‘Weedkiller’ is a bouncy bomb that’s bound to cause peak time mayhem. Although bass-heavy, wobbly and broken, the track still carries that Seiji swing. ‘Straylight’ (our favorite) is more of a house affair that allows Seiji’s multitude of music influences to shine through. Both tunes have huge synth action but still manage to maintain big percussive grooves. We love these genre busting releases… More please!

As well as launching the ‘Seiji Series’ this summer, Dolby also began releasing ‘Seiji Goodies’ at the start of the year. The goodies now boast an exclusive set of free track give-aways available to download via his website along with remixes of Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Basement Jaxx, Crookers, Gorillaz and Florence & The Machine.

To celebrate the launch of the Disconnected website, we’re having a party at a secret location in Nottingham city centre on the 16th October where we will be joined by Seiji himself, along with Peverelist and Red Rack’em. If you’d like to try and bag yourself a couple of tickets to the event as well as a couple of free drinks, take a look at our competitions page here.
