El TexF A: She Kissed Me First

Hypercolour go from strength to strength with their latest release from Spanish talent El TexF A.

This is a belter, El TexF A really knows his way around a 4×4 beat. The original mix is a groover. Warm, rounded kicks tempered with short, stabby piano notes, give way to its party piece: chopped up, haunting vocals raise the energy levels, before the driving, smattered piano groove punches back in, with all the elements combining to build a tingling peak.

Holge Zilske’s low slung arrangement engineers a tough groove that gives way to spaced out pads and chopped up keyboards, layered with the haunting vocal of the original. As things progress the vocal is revealed, tipping levels to near euphoric status, before being stripped away to the groove. What a tease!

Minilogue’s epic 15 minute sound-scape approach drops the energy levels down a notch, with deep, expansive pads creating an eerie, tense atmosphere – straight out of the heart of a nuclear submarine! Gradually the beats begin, emerging from the darkness to serve as your guide. High hats join wobbles of sub bass and filtered vocals for a enticing crescendo, before returning to the deep once more.
